The much anticipated new game of the Sims series, Sims Medieval has finally been released on the 22nd of March, 2011 and so far it seems that sales have been through the roof. Not only does the game bring a whole new perspective to the Sims universe by placing the action in the romantic décor of the Middle Ages, but the graphical interface astounding features has been the delight of game critics everywhere.
Though it was built using a modified engine of Sims 3, Sims Medieval brings a lot of new graphical features that are very impressive to look at, especially if your computer is powerful enough to support playing the game in full detail. However, one thing that most critics did agree on is that the cutaway frontal camera often complicates the gameplay and, though the producers state it was meant to always remind players that they are in a castle, it can become frustrating at times. In order to get rid of this annoying feature, you can simply use the cheats for Sims Medieval that become available once you open the console interface. By typing “ShellState [cutaway|full|hide]” you will be able to obtain a full cutaway of the area where your Sim is located.
Other cheats for Sims Medieval will provide you with the possibility to hide all those pesky thinking balloons above the Sims that often makes it difficult to click on stuff. All you need to do is enter the line “hideHeadlineEffects [on|off]” in your console interface and they are out of the picture.
In case the objects in a certain room obstruct the view you have of your Sim performing some action, cheats for Sims Medieval are there to help you. The command “fadeObjects [on|off]” will make every piece of scenery fade whenever your character is nearby.
You might have noticed by now that all cheats for Sims Medieval come with two parameters, which are there to help you in case you change your mind and you would like to deactivate them later on. If you are unhappy with a change you made to the game’s appearance using one of the aforementioned commands and deactivating a feature, you just need to type the same line in the console and make the parameter of the command “on”.
Leaving aside the few glitches in the texture, Sims Medieval is a game with a great graphical interface that should not need any modifications in order to look its best.
